Kiro for students

I used Kiro to build a fully functional RAG-based chatbot in just one day, and it completely transformed my development experience. This shift in workflow is preparing me for the future of AI Engineering, where leveraging intelligent tools effectively will be just as important as writing code itself.

Kiro stands out to me because it enables a design-first workflow. It can read my codebase, recognize when I’m adding a feature, and generate structured design docs upfront. I enjoy using Kiro because it’s developer-friendly. It makes it easy to plan project requirements, and you can follow along as it makes code changes. Installing MCP servers through Powers is also straightforward, so it’s quick to add specialized capabilities. Since I work closely with AWS, the AWS service-specific tooling has been very helpful!
