Kiro for students: Terms and Conditions

Last Updated: September 8, 2026

These Kiro for Students Terms and Conditions (the “Terms”) govern your participation in the Kiro for Students Program (the “Program”) and are an agreement between Amazon Web Services, Inc. and you. Your participation in the Program is governed by the AWS Customer Agreement (the “Agreement”) in addition to these Terms. Capitalized terms used but not defined in these Terms will have the meanings specified in the Agreement.

Program Overview and Eligibility. The Program provides eligible participants up to 1 year of access to Kiro, distributed as 1,000 Kiro credits, each month, for 12 months (the “Benefit Period”). To join and participate in the Program, you must (i) be 18 years old or older, (ii) be currently enrolled at a participating university, (iii) have a Kiro account created with a valid email address from a participating university, and (iv) be able to provide proof of participating university enrollment upon request. We may accept or refuse participation in the Program in our sole discretion. We may ask you to provide documentation supporting your eligibility. Failure to provide complete or accurate information may delay or prevent verification or participation in the Program. After verification and so long as you maintain eligibility, Kiro credits will be provisioned in your Kiro account on a monthly basis during the Benefit Period. Unused Kiro credits do not roll over month to month. You can view your credit usage in your account. You are limited to the Kiro credits provided under this Program and may not purchase additional Kiro credits during the Benefit Period. Program benefits are limited to one per participant. Program participation and benefits are non-transferable, may not be resold, and cannot be refunded or re-issued. For purposes of the Agreement, you are considered a Kiro Free Tier user, and once your Benefit Period ends, your Kiro usage will be subject to the Kiro Free Tier usage limits.

Program Changes and Modifications. We may change or discontinue the Program or any aspect of it, at any time, including changing or discontinuing any benefits offered under the Program or modifying these Terms. Unless we state otherwise, any changes to the Program will become effective at the time we update the kiro.dev website with the changes and any modification to these Terms will become effective at the time we post a revised version on the kiro.dev website. By continuing your participation in the Program after the effective date of any Program changes or modifications to these Terms, you agree to be bound by the Program changes and modified Terms. It is your responsibility to check the kiro.dev website for Program changes and modifications to these Terms.

Program Termination or Suspension. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Kiro or the Program, including to any portion of the Program, if you are in breach of these Terms or the Agreement or if we determine your use or access: (a) poses a security risk, (b) could subject us, our affiliates, or any third-party to liability, or (c) could be fraudulent.

Miscellaneous. Participation by universities does not constitute sponsorship, endorsement, or affiliation with Kiro. Participating universities are not sponsors of, and do not endorse, Kiro.
